Pakistan’s SC reconstitutes national assembly, no-confidence vote to be held on Saturday

The Deputy Speaker of the assembly, Qasim Suri had ruled out the no-confidence motion against PM Imran Khan stating that it is against the country’s constitution.

On Thursday, April 7, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has termed the no-confidence motion against PM Imran Khan as “unconstitutional.” The court had ordered to reconstitute the national assembly & has directed Speaker to call for a session.

The Deputy Speaker of the assembly, Qasim Suri had ruled out the no-confidence motion against PM Imran Khan stating that it is against the country’s constitution. After the SC’s decision opposition leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari tweeted “Democracy is the best revenge! Jiya Bhutto! Jiya Awam! Pakistan Zindabad.”

Imran Kahan has claimed the current situation is a conspiracy by the US. He stated that this is a revenge for his visit to Moscow during the Russia-Ukraine war & his friendship with China. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party has claimed that the ministers who have joined the opposition have been bribed.

The no-confidence vote will take place on Saturday & if it’s a success Imran Khan will the first Prime Minister to be removed through no-confidence vote. Imran Khan has denied to resigns by himself & has said that he will “play till the last ball.”
