Justin Trudeau imposes new set of sanctions on 10 individuals belonging to Putin’s inner circle

In the latest run-up list of sanctions against Russia, the Canadian Prime Minister levied new Justin Trudeau sanctions on 10 individuals who belong to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s inner circle. These 10 names are prima facie in influencing Russian President Putin to wage a full-blown war against Ukraine.

Trudeau in his official statement to a news conference in London revealed, that these 10 individuals have influenced the war on Ukraine; few were former government officials and few are currently in senior positions in the Russian leadership, others are oligarchs and are blind supporters of Putin. These names were traded by the opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who is currently in prison.

Canada on 28th February imposed Special Economic Measure Act(SEMA) in accordance with the amendment to Russia’s SEMA Regulations.

Canada denied access to Russia’s largest bank the Central Bank of the Federation, the National Wealth Fund of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation. Any properties owned by the Russian leadership or oligarchs or Putin’s inner circle were also seized and bank accounts were frozen by Canadian authorities.

Canada also denied access to any Russian connecting ship or cargo ship to dock at their ports or internal waters. Russia enters the 12th day of its brutal offensive against Ukraine today and no amount of sanctions or diplomacy or dialogue has softened Putin’s aggression.
