In a rapid escalation, Iran launched missiles at Israel, causing alarm across the nation as civilians rushed to shelter. This attack was reportedly in response to the killing of an Iranian Guards commander and other key leaders.
Soon after the missile strike, the Israel Defense Forces issued an all-clear, allowing citizens to leave their shelters. However, a military spokesperson warned of retaliation against Iran at a place and time of their choosing. Meanwhile, the Iran Guards threatened further action if Israel responded to the missile attack.
Earlier, the Israeli military had warned of potential widespread missile strikes from Iran, urging the public to take cover in safe rooms if needed. The incident followed Israeli ground raids into Lebanon, marking one of the most significant escalations in regional conflict since the Gaza fighting a year ago.
Following the missile launch, Tehran International Airport suspended both incoming and outgoing flights. Said Chalandari, the airport chief, confirmed the temporary halt in operations.
Additionally, local authorities in the West Bank reported that shrapnel from the missile attack led to the death of a Palestinian.
Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, a spokesperson for the Israeli military, emphasized that the attack would not go unanswered, stating, “This attack will have consequences. We have plans, and we will operate at the place and time we decide.”
