On Saturday, tension occurred between Israel and Gaza after the Hamas militant group of Gaza announced “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood” against Israel, that led to its infiltration into the southern parts of Israel. This surprise attack by Hamas on Israel resulted into intense sound of sirens across southern and central Israel on Saturday morning.
Israel’s local media has reported that at least 5000 rockets were launched by Hamas into Israel and several gunmen belonging to Palestinian militant group (Hamas) crossed the border and infiltrated Israeli communities. Attack from rockets and gunbattles in southern towns of Israel has created complete havoc among common citizens as several deaths and injuries have occurred.
Several pictures and videos are running on social media that shows military vehicles, and Israeli people are taken to Gaza as a result of conflict between the two countries. However, this visuals remain unconfirmed unless and until the administration confirms them.
Israel Defence Minister Yoav Gallant confirmed that Hamas has declared a war against Israel. Gallant has requested all the Israeli citizens to follow security instructions. In a video message posted on X, Yoav Gallant said: “The Hamas terrorist organization made a grave mistake this morning and launched a war against the State of Israel. IDF troops are fighting the enemy at every location. I call on all of Israel’s citizens to follow security instructions. The State of Israel will win this war.”

Meanwhile, Ursula von der Leyen, the President of European Commission, has condemned the attack by Hamas militants. She said on X, “I unequivocally condemn the attack carried out by Hamas terrorists against Israel. It is terrorism in its most despicable form. Israel has the right to defend itself against such heinous attacks.”

The conflict is a result of Hamas’s anti-Israel stand due to the volatile border sharing of the two countries. Hamas is an Islamic terror outfit that previously also fought few wars against Israel, after Israel took over the territory in 2007 that Hamas claims its own.
