In a sharp escalation of the ongoing Iran conflict, Iranian military officials have issued a direct warning to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), stating that the strategic Fujairah Port and the critical Habshan-Fujairah oil pipeline could become targets if the UAE continues to allow its territory to be used for attacks against Iran.
The warning comes amid repeated drone strikes on UAE energy facilities and follows Iran’s effective disruption of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital chokepoint for global oil trade.
Background: Iran’s Retaliation and Warnings to UAE Ports
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has declared U.S. interests in the UAE — including ports, docks, and military-related sites — as “legitimate targets”. Iranian state media urged residents and workers near Fujairah, Jebel Ali (Dubai), and Khalifa Port (Abu Dhabi) to evacuate immediately to avoid civilian casualties.
The threats follow U.S. strikes on Iranian oil facilities, including Kharg Island, and alleged use of UAE territory in operations against Iranian-controlled islands in the Persian Gulf, such as Abu Musa and Greater Tunb.
Iran has repeatedly stated that any further aggression originating from UAE soil will trigger a strong response, with some statements specifically warning of heavy strikes on areas like Ras Al Khaimah.
