German Military on Monday said on Twitter that a firefight broke out between Afghan soldiers and unknown attackers. In the attack, an Afghan security soldier was killed and three others were wounded.

The military also said that US and German forces were also involved in the battle and that German soldiers were unharmed.
According to CNN, a sniper outside the airport had fired at Afghan guards inside the facility and they had returned fire but U.S. forces had fired back at the Afghan guards. Two NATO officials told Reuters that the situation is under control all airport gates had been closed.
The firefight comes a day after seven people were killed in crowds near Kabul airport as thousands thronged to the airport to fly out of Afghanistan to escape Taliban rule.
A Taliban official told Reuters that foreign nations have not sought to extend the August 31 deadline to leave the country.
According to Sky News, tens of thousands of Afghans gathered at the airport where several people were crushed against the barricades.
Taliban seized control of Afghanistan on August 15 ending a 20-year-old war with the USA. Nations have been trying to evacuate diplomats, foreign citizens and Afghans from the country, a process President Joe Biden described as “hard and painful.”
