The internet restrictions came after violent scenes last week as protests continue against three farm laws passed in September. Since late November, thousands of protesters have gathered on the outskirts of New Delhi to demonstrate against the reforms. They say they weren’t consulted on and which will hurt their livelihoods. The Internet has been clamped down in many areas of the protests and over 110 Twitter accounts have been withheld amidst the agitation.

Recently, not only Greta Thunberg but many global celebrities came out to show their open support to farmers’ protest, including singer Rihanna and American vlogger Amanda Cerny.
