Scarlett Johansson is a major Hollywood star who really rose to even bigger fame when she joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting with Iron Man 2. Fans loved watching her as Black Widow, the skilled assassin, throughout the Marvel movies. She wrapped up this chapter of her career in Avengers: Endgame in 2019, a film she still looks back on with a lot of pride.

Johansson recently shared her surprise and disappointment in a Vanity Fair interview about Endgame not getting an Oscar nomination for Best Picture. While the movie did get a nod for its incredible visual effects, Scarlett couldn’t understand why such a massive and groundbreaking film was overlooked in the top category.

She called Endgame an “impossible movie that should not have worked, that really works as a film,” pointing out how successful and influential it remains to this day.

Scarlett first appeared as Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow) back in 2010 alongside big names like Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow, and she became a key player in the 2012 blockbuster The Avengers.

Looking ahead, Johansson fans have a new treat coming up: she’s joining the Jurassic World franchise. In Jurassic World: Rebirth, set to release July 2, 2025, Scarlett plays Zora Bennett, a tough guide leading a team through dangerous wilderness on a risky mission. She stars alongside Jonathan Bailey, Mahershala Ali, and others in what promises to be an exciting prehistoric adventure.
