James Gunn, the head of DC and the director of the upcoming Superman movie, has released a brand-new trailer that’s already stirring excitement among fans. David Corenswet steps into the iconic superhero suit, sparking high anticipation for the film’s release.

The previous trailer broke records with an astounding 250 million views on streaming platforms, becoming the most-watched trailer ever for both DC Comics and Warner Bros. Building on that momentum, the latest preview shows Superman facing intense public backlash despite his heroic act of stopping a war.

The trailer opens with Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane conducting a tough and pointed interview, firing challenging questions at Superman. As the story unfolds, Superman battles harsh media scrutiny and public outrage, but he remains resilient, ultimately confronting the villainous Lex Luthor.

Joining Corenswet and Brosnahan are Nicholas Hoult, Skyler Gisondo, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, and Edi Gathegi. This film marks the first solo Superman movie in ten years since Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel.

Rachel Brosnahan shared her enthusiasm for playing Lois Lane during a chat with Variety at the 2024 SAG Awards. She said, “I have always loved Lois Lane. She’s smart, ambitious, and can be funny. She knows she’s the smartest person in the room more often than not.” Brosnahan also expressed admiration for James Gunn’s work, saying, “I’m such a fan of James Gunn from afar.”

Superman is set to soar into theaters on July 11.
