Cannes 2025 is shaping up to be an epic reunion spot (or at least a major moment) for Hollywood’s brightest — including Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, whose past romance once captured global attention and even stirred a political jab from Donald Trump.
Pattinson stars alongside Jennifer Lawrence in Die, My Love, a gripping thriller by acclaimed Scottish director Lynne Ramsay. The film dives into the psychological struggles of a mother battling psychosis, and its intense plot combined with a stellar cast has already sparked buzz ahead of its Cannes premiere.
On the other hand, Kristen Stewart is making her feature directorial debut with The Chronology of Water, based on Lidia Yuknavitch’s bestselling memoir. The movie follows an Olympic swimming hopeful who escapes an abusive home, battles addiction, and finds herself through writing and self-discovery. Stewart also co-wrote the script, showing off her creative versatility beyond acting.
The festival lineup was officially revealed by Cannes chief Thierry Fremaux on April 10, following a screening of Die, My Love for the festival committee.
Fans can’t help but speculate if Robert and Kristen, whose romance famously made headlines during their Twilight days and ended around 2018, will cross paths at Cannes. The last known public interaction was reportedly at Lily-Rose Depp’s birthday party at Chateau Marmont in 2018, when both were navigating new chapters in their personal lives—Rob post-breakup with FKA Twigs, and Kristen linked to Stella Maxwell.
Fast forward to 2025, both have moved forward significantly: Robert and Suki Waterhouse welcomed a baby girl in March 2024, while Kristen tied the knot with longtime partner Dylan Meyer just last month in April.
With Cannes running May 13–24, fans are eager to see if the two will share a moment after nearly a decade apart — either on the red carpet or behind the scenes. Whether it’s a warm reunion, a casual hello, or just a glance, it’s bound to be a highlight for longtime fans of “Robsten.”
