In another heartfelt tribute, May gushed, “Do we look happy?!!! Gonna treasure this moment on the plane with @bensonboone—a truly golden 22-year-old prodigy. I’m proud and happy to say we are now officially pals.”

During his main set, Boone showcased his dynamic stage presence, performing fan favorites like Slow It Down, Cry, and more. His energy was infectious, even pulling off a backflip over his piano mid-performance.

The Coachella stage also served as the perfect backdrop for Boone to announce his upcoming second album, American Heart, slated for release on June 20. He treated the crowd to the premiere of its title track, Mystical Magical, giving fans a sneak peek into the retro-inspired sound of his new work.

Boone shared in a conversation with Rolling Stone that his latest album channels a classic Americana vibe, heavily influenced by the legendary Bruce Springsteen. “A lot of it is very Bruce Springsteen, Americana, with a little more of a retro vibe. It all started with me believing in the song ‘Beautiful Things.’ Now, I have a whole album just about ready to go—and I’ve never believed so much in a body of work.”

Boone’s Coachella performance is just another highlight of what is shaping up to be a monumental year. His single Beautiful Things was one of the biggest hits of 2024 and earned him a Grammy nomination, setting the stage for what promises to be a long and successful career in music.
