Chris Evans has won hearts worldwide with his portrayal of Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it turns out he’s just as impressive off-screen too, especially when it comes to surprising his fans and showing off hidden talents!
Recently, Evans visited tattoo artist Josh Lord’s studio in New York, where he gave a special surprise to a lucky fan — by getting a tattoo of his MCU character, Captain America. But what really stood out wasn’t just the tattoo itself. Lord, the owner of the tattoo parlor, shared with People Magazine that Evans has a knack for surprising people with his secret talents.
Lord recalled a fun moment when he tried to impress Chris with a card trick he had just learned — but things didn’t go quite as planned. “I flubbed it,” Lord laughed. “But Chris pulled off a flawless, difficult card trick as if it were nothing!” According to Lord, this moment was just another example of how Evans is full of “hidden depths.”
This wasn’t Evans’ first time getting a tattoo from Josh Lord. Back in 2018, as the original Avengers were wrapping up their time in the franchise with Endgame, Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, and Jeremy Renner all went to Lord’s parlor to get matching tattoos as a tribute to their time together. Mark Ruffalo was also there, but he passed on the ink.
Lord mentioned that out of all the Avengers, Evans was definitely the most focused when it came to his tattoo — and he even got the “best lines” of them all. “His line was the least shaky,” said Lord, giving Evans top marks for his concentration.
So, whether it’s surprising fans with a tattoo or pulling off a perfect card trick, it’s clear Chris Evans is much more than just a superhero on screen — he’s a guy full of surprises!
