Following the explosive and mind-bending finale of Severance Season 2, fans are eagerly anticipating what’s next, and it looks like the possibility of a third season is very much on the table. At PaleyFest LA, where the cast and creative team gathered to discuss the show, Severance creator Dan Erickson hinted that talks for Season 3 are already underway.
The event, which took place at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre on the same day the Season 2 finale aired, featured a star-studded panel with lead actor Adam Scott, director/executive producer Ben Stiller, and creator Dan Erickson. Cast members like Britt Lower, Patricia Arquette, Zach Cherry, Dichen Lachman, Jen Tullock, Sarah Bock, Tramell Tillman, Gwendoline Christie, Michael Chernus, and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson were also in attendance.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Erickson shared that after watching fan reactions to the finale, he’s been making an effort to distance himself from all the chatter, although he did confirm that they are “deep in talking” about a potential third season. He expressed excitement about seeing fans uncover new layers of the show, which he described as a “secret” the team has been holding onto for years.
Ben Stiller also added his thoughts, noting that the finale sparked divided opinions among viewers. “I feel like that’s what we were hoping for—that you could take one character’s side or the other and really think about where we’re coming from to justify the choice,” he said.
This event marked the first in-person gathering for the Severance team, as the series first debuted during the pandemic and Season 2 premiered amidst the L.A. wildfires, making this moment a significant milestone for the cast and crew. Fans can look forward to more twists and turns as the discussions about Season 3 continue.
