Gabriel Macht has been deeply moved by the overwhelming reaction from fans after reprising his iconic role as Harvey Specter in Suits L.A.‘s fourth episode, titled Batman Returns. Known for his sharp wit and self-assured demeanor, Harvey’s return sparked excitement, with many fans eager to see more of the character. Macht, who played Harvey for nine seasons in the original Suits series, reflected on why audiences remain so invested in Harvey’s character.
In an interview with US Weekly, Macht explained that Harvey’s appeal lies in his unfiltered, “quippy” nature, and his larger-than-life ego. Despite his flaws, including his manipulative tactics, Harvey has a heart of gold, which is at the core of why fans connect with him. Macht noted that while Harvey is initially self-centered, his evolution over the course of Suits — learning from his mistakes and showing vulnerability — is what ultimately makes him likeable and relatable. He added that Harvey is driven by a desire to do what’s right, even if his methods are questionable at times.
Macht admitted that there were moments when he questioned Harvey’s actions, saying, “There are times where I’m like, ‘This guy is terrible. What is he doing?’” But despite these flaws, Harvey’s character remains beloved because of his growth and the complexities beneath his confident exterior.
In Suits L.A., Harvey returns as a close friend of Ted Black, played by Stephen Amell, with much of his screen time filmed in a nostalgic, throwback style. Fans are eagerly awaiting more of Harvey Specter, and reports suggest that Rick Hoffman will also reprise his role as Louis Litt in upcoming episodes, promising even more Suits magic for loyal viewers.
