Is Elizabeth Olsen returning as Scarlet Witch in upcoming Avengers movies?

Elizabeth Olsen has captivated audiences with every performance, especially as Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, one of the most powerful and beloved characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars on the horizon, fans are eagerly speculating about whether she will return to the big screen.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Olsen shared what she’s been up to lately. Given that several actors have already been confirmed for Phase 6, the burning question remains—will she be among them?

Is Elizabeth Olsen filming for Marvel again?

Olsen was asked about her possible return while working on her new project, Panic Carefully, in London—a city that, coincidentally, is also a key location for the production of the upcoming Avengers films. However, she quickly put an end to the rumors:

“No, I’m back [in the States]. I just finished (Panic Carefully). I’m moving on to filming a pilot for FX (Seven Sisters).”

While her statement suggests she isn’t currently involved in Marvel’s next phase, it doesn’t completely shut the door on a future return.

Could Scarlet Witch still make a comeback?

At the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Wanda’s fate was left ambiguous—she appeared to die in the collapse of her temple, but Marvel is known for its twists and surprises. Given how popular and pivotal her character has become, it’s hard to imagine Marvel letting her story end there.

With Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars set to be massive crossover events, there’s always a chance for Scarlet Witch to make a surprise return—perhaps even in a multiversal twist.

Adding to the excitement, last year’s San Diego Comic-Con revealed that the Russo Brothers will be directing both Avengers films, and Robert Downey Jr. is rumored to be returning—not as Iron Man, but as Dr. Doom, the next big bad.

For now, Olsen may be focusing on new projects, but in the MCU, no one is ever truly gone—especially not someone as powerful as Scarlet Witch.
