WhatsApp is preparing to introduce a new feature that will enable users to customize the appearance of their chat conversations. The feature, currently in development in WhatsApp v2.24.20.12 beta for Android, will allow individuals to apply personalized themes to their chats, including the ability to choose different colors and set wallpaper backgrounds.
The forthcoming update will include a selection of 11 preset themes for users to choose from. Additionally, users will have the flexibility to pick their color and adjust the brightness of the theme via a slider. By default, the chosen theme will be applied to all chats. However, users will have the option to override this default setting for individual conversations, applying different themes to specific chats. Notably, the selected theme will be visible to both participants in the conversation.
Although this feature is not yet available in the latest beta version, the extensive development effort suggests that a public release could be imminent. This customization feature aims to enhance user experience by offering more personalized and visually appealing chat environments.
Currently, WhatsApp provides only a limited range of customization options, making the introduction of theme customization a notable upgrade. Users have long requested more personalization features, and this update seems to address that demand effectively. The ability to tailor chat appearances with colors and wallpapers could significantly impact how users interact with the app, making their communication experience more engaging and enjoyable.
