Lenovo is preparing to unveil a series of new, more affordable Copilot Plus PCs at the upcoming IFA trade show, according to a leaked press release by reliable leaker Evan Blass. The announcement will include several models featuring an unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus chip, promising to deliver high performance at a more accessible price point.

Among the new offerings are the Lenovo IdeaPad 5x 2-in-1 and the IdeaPad Slim 5x. The IdeaPad 5x 2-in-1 is a versatile convertible laptop boasting a 14-inch OLED display, while the IdeaPad Slim 5x is a sleek, full-metal clamshell laptop that also offers a 14-inch OLED screen option. Both models are equipped with the new Snapdragon X Plus 8-core processor. While this is a downgrade from the higher-end 10-core version, it is anticipated to deliver a good balance of performance and efficiency at a more affordable price.

Pricing for these new models starts at €899 (approximately $990) for the IdeaPad Slim 5x and €999 for the IdeaPad 5x 2-in-1, making them significantly cheaper than the current entry-level Copilot Plus PC, the Surface Laptop 7, which retails at €1,199. This pricing strategy suggests that Lenovo is positioning these new models as budget-friendly alternatives without compromising too much on performance.

The U.S. pricing for these new Lenovo Copilot Plus PCs has yet to be confirmed, but there is speculation that it may closely mirror European prices. For comparison, the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus and HP OmniBook X, both featuring Qualcomm’s 10- or 12-core Snapdragon chips, are currently available with discounts at $799.99 and $899.99 respectively.

In addition to these Snapdragon-powered PCs, Lenovo is also planning to release other Copilot Plus models featuring Intel and AMD processors. The Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition will be powered by Intel’s latest Core Ultra Series 2 chips, while the Yoga Pro 7 and IdeaPad Slim 5 will be equipped with AMD’s latest Ryzen processors.
