Twitter sold to Elon Musk for $ 44 Billion

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has reportedly bagged one of the most discussed deals to buy social media giant, Twitter for nearly $ 44 Billion.

After days of discussion on the endeavor of the social media giant, Twitter, the things will finally come to rest as Tesla CEO has finally bought Twitter for a whopping $ 44 Billion, according to the news agencies in the US. Several controversies whirling around the Board of Directors of the social media and Tesla Boss, Elon Musk, the speculations, and the debates have finally met the conclusion. Last week, Elon Musk had confirmed that he had secured around $ 46.5 Billion to acquire Twitter.

“Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated,” Elon Musk said in a statement announcing the deal. Elon Musk also expressed his desire “to make Twitter better than ever.”

Shares of Twitter Inc. surged more than 5% overnight ahead of the deal and amid reports of Twitter accepting Musk’s offer of a buyout. Following this, the New York Stock Exchange halted trading in the company’s stock and further stated that “news expected soon”, news agency AFP reported.
