Ramesh Agarwal, the father of Ritesh Agarwal, the founder of Oyo Rooms, has passed away after falling from a building in Gurgaon, just a few days after his son’s wedding. The news was confirmed by an OYO representative, and Ritesh Agarwal also released a statement regarding his father’s death.
“With a heavy heart, my family and I, would like to share that our guiding light and strength, my father, Shri Ramesh Agarwal passed away on 10 March. He lived a full life and inspired me and so many of us, every single day,” he stated.
“His death is a tremendous loss for our family. My father’s compassion and warmth saw us through our toughest times and carried us forward. His words will resonate deep in our hearts. We request everyone to respect our privacy in this time of grief,” the statement continued.
According to reports, the fatal injuries of the deceased were caused by a fall from the 20th floor. The situation is currently under investigation by the city police.
On March 7, 29-year-old Ritesh Agarwal wed Geetansha Sood, and the couple held their wedding reception at the five-star Taj Palace hotel in Delhi. The event was attended by CEO of SoftBank Masayoshi Son.
