It is a sad day for the entire nation. Losing an icon is a big loss. Nightingale of India- Lata Mangeshkar passed away on Sunday at the age of 92 after a prolonged illness. Lata Jii’s body will be cremated at Shivaji Park in Mumbai.
Elaborate arrangements have been made at Shivaji Park for the public darshan of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar’s mortal remains. The last rites will take place at 6:30 pm.
Various celebrities like Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan, Javed Akhtar, Shah Rukh Khan, Raj Thackeray, Uddhav Thackeray, Piyush Goyal, Sharad Pawar and many more have already reached at Shivaji Park.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be arriving in few minutes as the last rites will be performed at 6:30 pm.
Not just celebrities, The Mangeshkar sisters, Usha Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle were also spotted at the Shivaji Park.
The funeral procession proceeded from Shivaji Park from her ‘Prabhukunj’ residence.
The 92-year-old singer was hospitalized on January 8 after she tested positive for Covid-19 with mild symptoms. Mangeshkar was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital where she was under the treatment of Dr Pratit Samdani and his team of doctors.
