Japanese PM Fumio Kishida on a two-day visit to India from today, scheduled to meet PM Narendra Modi

PM Fumio Kishida is on a two-day visit for the 14th India- Japan Annual Summit.

On Saturday, March 19, the Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will commence his two-day visit to India for the 14th India- Japan Annual Summit. This will be Kishida’s first visit to India as PM of Japan.

India & Japan has a special strategic & global partnership. The summit will provide further opportunities for both nations to strengthen their bilateral rules.

The Japanese PM is scheduled to meet with PM Narendra Modi. Ministry of External Affairs informed that this will be the first meeting between PM Modi & Kishida. “India-Japan Summit will be held on March 19th. At the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida will be undertaking an official visit to New Delhi from 19-20 March for 14th India-Japan Annual Summit. This will be the first meeting of these two leaders,” said MEA spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi.

Earlier PM Modi spoke with the Japanese counterpart in October 2021. Both nations have signed a digital partnership in 2018. India has further co-operation with Japan in the fields of IT, 5G network, underwater cables & network security. Apart from these, the Mumbai- Ahmedabad high-speed rail project is being made with the assistance of Japan.
