Australian pitches have always seen some great pace and swing. Every seamer loves to bowl on pitches which give them extra bounce and pace and what’s better for the young guns to perform on such pitches in an event like the T20 World Cup?

Here are five young seamers everyone has an eye on during the T20 World Cup.

1. Arshdeep Singh (India)

India has already been struck with a major blow of star pacer Jasprit Bumrah being ruled out of the tournament because of a back injury. With losing a prime pacer, Arshdeep Singh has been the vital fast bowling option for the team. It is a huge responsibility on the young shoulder but at the same time, it’s his time to shine as well.

The left-arm fast bowler made his way into the team after performing exceptionally well in the IPL seasons over the years. He has acquired 19 wickets so far in 13 T20Is with an average of 19.78 and an economy rate just above eight per over (which can be improved in the coming years).

His ability to bowl yorkers in the death overs has attracted a lot of eyeballs and that makes him the prime choice in India’s XI.

2. Naseem Shah (Pakistan)

The pace and consistency this 19-year-old provide are just remarkable. Shah has successfully filled the void of Shaheen Afridi’s injury recently and has proved his capability as well.

Well, even some experienced batters find it difficult to face the pace he delivers with the new ball. He has fine figures in the power play and has proved it well and good to the spectators in the ICC Men’s Asia Cup 2022.

The young gun has just played six T20Is but we are well aware of what this seamer can provide considering lethal for the opposing teams ahead in the T20 World Cup.

 

3. Tristan Stubbs (South Africa)

The 22-year-old finisher has only played eight T20I and has proved how dangerous he can be for the rest of the teams at the World level tournament. The youth is currently playing at an astonishing strike rate of 212.5 in the T20Is.

The right-hander has made his place in the team and will play a vital part as the finisher for South Africa. The 22-year-old may not have long experience but can clear the big boundaries with ease.

4. Fazalhaq Farooqi (Afghanistan)

The 22-year-old Farooqi is Afghanistan’s leading wicket-taker in the T20Is this year. He has been extremely well with the white ball. The young seamer has taken 17 wickets at an average of 19.35 and a highly impressive economy rate of 6.83

Fazalhaq Farooqi made his way into the team after performing great in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup. The left-arm seamer has also put great efforts into the recent 2022 Asia Cup. His bowling abilities will be a plus factor for Afghanistan in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

5. Vriitya Aravind (UAE)

The 20-year-old is the young wicketkeeper-batter for the UAE and has given the team a respectable middle-order batting.

The right-handed batter had topped the run charts at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier A with 267 runs from five innings at an average of 89 and an impressive strike rate of 154.3.

The righty has become a pillar for the UAE and will play a very crucial role for the team during the T20 World Cup in Australia.
