According to CNN18, the Goa government has imposed a night curfew in the state. The decision has been taken following the rising number of COVID-19 & Omicron cases. The curfew will be imposed from 11 pm to 6 am.
Due to account of the new year, many tourists gathered in Goa & this resulted in a increase in COVID-19 positivity cases in Goa. The positivity rates have surpassed 10%. CM Pramod Sawant had a meeting with the task force & finalized the decision on implementing night curfew. The curfew is likely to be imposed from tomorrow or from January 7, the decision on this is yet to be taken.
Schools have been shut down starting from tomorrow to January 26. No offline classes will be conducted in the state. The government has also requested eligible citizens to take COVID-19 vaccines.
