Donald Trump Jr.’s girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle tests positive for Coronavirus

Kimberly Guilfoyle, the television personality and Donald Trump Jr.’s girlfriend, tested positive for the novel Coronavirus on Friday. An american attorney and former co-host of The Five on Fox News, Guilfoyle was tested positive during a routine test conducted of the people around President Trump.

The Independent reports that she was tested in South Dakota before she was due to attend an Independence Day event at Mount Rushmore with president Donald Trump. She was immediately put in isolation following the tests and Donald Trump Jr. was also tested although his results turned out negative.

“She is doing well and would be retested since she’s asymptomatic”, said Sergio Gor, the chief of staff to Trump campaign’s financial committee. Expectedly, all her visits and upcoming events have been cancelled and her boyfriend, Donald Trump Jr., has also been put into self-isolation, informed Gor.

This is the third COVID-19 positive case amongst people surrounding Donald Trump. The other two were the President’s personal valet and the US Vice President’s Press secretary, Katie Miller.

Ms. Guilfoyle was also a part of the Trump rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma where 6000 people had gathered, disrespecting social distancing norms and hardly wearing face masks, reported The Independent. There were no laying out of health guidelines for the Mount Rushmore event as well.

All of this comes after the expression of dissent by the Americans over following social distancing norms and using personal protective equipment, especially face masks. President Donald Trump also advocated the nation of ‘personal choice’ when it comes to wearing masks.

The United States of America has had an undefeated position in housing the highest COVID-19 cases in the world. Over 2.9 million people have been tested positive and over 1.3 lakh people have lost their lives to it.
