United States Trade Representative Jamison Greer said on Monday that Washington is “close to resolving” the TikTok issue with Beijing. Speaking to reporters in Madrid, Greer emphasized that the US wants to maintain a constructive relationship with its Chinese counterparts.
Meanwhile, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent noted that if a deal on TikTok is not finalized, it “won’t affect overall relations” between the two countries. He added that President Donald Trump has “great respect” for Chinese President Xi Jinping and highlighted “good progress on technical details” in the discussions.
The US officials arrived in Spain yesterday for meetings with a Chinese delegation led by Vice Premier He Lifeng, covering multiple bilateral topics, including trade and technology.
