OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney+ Hotstar became our go-to during boredom out of lockdown. They experienced an instant spike in their audience too. Several web series was released during the lockdown so as to entertain viewers. One main instance would be Money Heist. A 15-episode series that has been a part of several individual’s regular routines during the lockdown. As soon as Netflix released the fourth season of this show, the hype around it was incredible. Instagram stories were filled with trailers, dialogues, pictures of iconic scenes, memes (of course) and the excitement of the audience went up to a whole new level.

2) Re-telecast of Epics:
Amidst lockdown, Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan and Mahabharat were re-telecast on Doordarshan and straightaway took the top positions. By attaining the highest TRP, these epics have refreshed the memory of every individual. It has also shed light on the ‘good old days’. After Ramanand Sagar, many producers decided to re-telecast their versions of Ramayan and Mahabharat on different TV channels.

I am sure many of you might have been surprised when the colour of coffee changed to light ochre by just mixing it with water and sugar and whipping it vigorously. Social media was flooded with a snap of this unique yet delicious coffee. People modified this yummy glass of coffee by adding Oreo crumbs, Choco-chips, waffles, ice-cream and what not.
5) Challenges:
Many pages on Instagram and Facebook came up with fitness challenges motivating people to also look after their health during the lockdown. Further, the netizens went on to challenge their friends on social media to participate in the same. It did serve as a quick source of entertainment for the people. Apart from fitness challenges, other ones such as posting your old photos, ‘nathi chya nakhra’ (nose-ring challenge) and tagging your friends to do the same also came to light.
