Chandrayan-3 Spacecraft to integrate with Launch Vehicle: ISRO

ISRO in its tweet said, “Today, at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, the encapsulated assembly containing Chandrayaan-3 is mated with LVM3.

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) today announced the integrated encapsulated vehicle which would be containing Chandrayan-3 with the launch vehicle- LVM3 at Satish Dhawan Space Centre.

ISRO in its tweet said, “Today, at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, the encapsulated assembly containing Chandrayaan-3 is mated with LVM3. The space agency’s chairman S Somnath while speaking to ANI said that they are planning for the launch day between July 13 to July 19 for its third lunar mission. Somnath said that ISRO aims for a soft landing and the launch day is July 13 and can go up to July 19.

In October last year, the ISRO chairman announced the tentative date of the Chandryan-3 launch in June 2023. He announced that the final integration and testing is almost complete. Still, some tests are pending, so we want to do it a little later. There were two slots available February 2023 and June 2023 and ISRO went with June for the launch.

India’s second lunar mission Chandryan-2 took off from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota on July 22, 2019 but the mission was declared a failure when the Vikram lunar lander crashed on the surface of moon during the early hours of September 6.
