Rockstar Games confirms remastered versions of Grand Theft Auto to be released as a series

The popular role-playing games will be coming later this year as part of a series named Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.

Rockstar Games has verified that its Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas games are being remastered. The company has planned the launching of the remastered version of the games along with the 20th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto III, which marked its 20 years since October 2001.

The popular role-playing games will be coming later this year as part of a series named Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. The remastered variants of the games are assumed to offer advancements in graphics and other gameplay augmentations while maintaining the classic look and feel of the original titles.

Rockstar Games has declared that the trilogy will be accessible on platforms including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/ S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and the Rockstar Games Launcher on PC. The games will also be launched on iOS and Android at the beginning of 2022.

For now, the exact launching date of the games is unknown. Moreover, as the studio plans to initiate remastered versions of the games, the removal of the present versions of the games from digital retailers will begin next week.

Gamers who bought the games beforehand will still be able to download and play them on their consoles. The company will propose several special gears to commemorate the 20th anniversary of its viral game. The equipment is set to be ready in GTA Online this coming fall.
