Strands is a fresh daily puzzle from the New York Times that offers a challenging twist on the classic word search. To solve it, you’ll need sharp eyes and a knack for wordplay.
Just like Wordle, Connections, and The Mini Crossword, Strands can be tricky. If you’re having trouble with today’s puzzle, don’t worry—help is here.
How to Play NYT Strands
- Objective: Find the “theme words” hidden in the grid of letters.
- Playing: Drag or tap to form words. Confirm your word by double-tapping the last letter.
- Highlighting: Correct words will be highlighted in blue and can’t be selected again.
- Hints: For every three non-theme words (at least four letters long) you find, you’ll receive a hint revealing the letters of one theme word. You then unscramble it to continue.
- Spangram: Each puzzle features a special theme word (or words) that stretches across the grid from one side to the other, called the “spangram.” It will be highlighted in yellow when found.
The goal is to solve the puzzle efficiently and with minimal hints.
