A significant upgrade for Google’s smartwatches and fitness trackers, including the Pixel Watch and Fitbit’s smartwatches and fitness trackers, was released today. The update adds a slew of new capabilities to both sets of gadgets, including support for blood oxygen monitoring and improved heart rate sensing on Pixel Watch and support for more languages and new watch faces on Fitbit gadgets.

Google said that it has begun distributing these functionalities to Fitbit and Pixel Watch devices, and that all eligible devices will receive the update in the upcoming few weeks.

Upcoming Pixel Watch Features:
SPO2 detection is one of the most significant new features for Pixel Watch. Owners of Pixel devices will soon be able to check their blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) while they are sleeping thanks to this function. Additionally, users of the Pixel Watch will be able to follow the trends in their SpO2 over time, which will enable them to detect any changes related to their activity, altitude, and general wellbeing.

The Pixel Watch will also have more intelligent heart rate tracking in addition to this. As your heart rate may be a sign of your general health and any impending problems, Google claims the Pixel Watch will now be able to notify users if it is exceptionally high or low.

Additionally, Google is extending Spotify DJ session functionality to Pixel Watch, a capability that it previously only offered to Wear OS-powered smartwatches earlier this month. Users of the Pixel Watch will be able to “listen to podcasts and check out what’s in your heavy rotation right from your wrist with three new tiles” with the help of this functionality.

Google is also expanding the number of languages that Google Assistant will support. Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, Polish, and Spanish, among other languages and regions, are now supported by Wear OS, according to the firm.

Last but not least, the firm said that Pixel Watch would feature auto-Pause your run. According to the business, a user’s run, walk, or bike workout will now be immediately paused by Pixel Watch.

Fitbit Gadgets will get new Features soon:
The Fitbit Charge 5, Luxe, and Inspire 3 smartwatches and fitness trackers are receiving health and fitness updates as a result of which the exercise menu in the Fitbit app will offer a full list of activity modes to pick from, with a user’s most recent workout modes at the top.

The Fitbit Sense 2 and Versa 4 will also receive a new menstrual health tile that will allow users to see and change information without needing to use their smartphones. By holding down long-press on the home screen, these smartwatches now have the option to quickly flip between several clock faces and select the one they like.

Additionally, alerts are now available for Fitbit Sense 2, Versa 4, Charge 5, Luxe, and Inspire 3. According to Google, users will soon be able to see caller ID in Arabic, receive texts in Hindi, view calendar events in Vietnamese, and more. Additionally, support for four additional clock faces is available for the Fitbit Charge 5, Luxe, and Inspire 3.

The business also said that users of Fitbit devices would now be able to quickly see their Daily Readiness Score “so you know if your body is ready to tackle a workout or needs to prioritise rest.” All Fitbit devices will support this functionality.
