WhatsApp has unveiled a new feature in iOS that enables the app to send updates to users through an in-app notification.
According to an HT Tech report, WhatsApp has currently launched this feature on iOS and will probably dispatch it soon on Android-based phones. Moreover, WhatsApp for Business will also get a new feature.
The enables WhatsApp to alert its users about updates through in-app notifications. Additionally, users can choose to turn on these alerts from the notification section of the settings menu.
As per the HT Tech report, a user can customize their notifications as per their liking within the app by selecting Alert Style, the users will get three options to choose from; None, Banners, and Alerts.
WhatsApp said, “Alerts require an action before proceeding. Banners appear at the top of the screen and go away automatically.”
The in-app banner was initially reported by WABetaInfo. According to their report, the messaging application platform will alert its users about its updated Terms of Service through in-app notification. Additionally, WhatsApp will be updating its Terms of Service in 2021.
