The first app is called My safety pin app. It acts like a guide to help you choose the safest route. The app will send an alert while reaching a dangerous location and you may invite your family or friends to follow the journey. Shake2 Safety is another safety app for women. All you have to do is shake the phone or four times push the power button. The app will send out a SOS message or make an emergency call for registered numbers. Moreover, this application does not require an Internet connection. The app also works when you have a locked screen.

This app has been launched by the Delhi Police. It has specially been designed for women travelling late at night. The user has to register on the Delhi Police website after which an OTP will be sent to complete the authentication process. This is done only once. After the registration is completed, the app can send an SOS alarm to the registered numbers, and one alarm with audio and video transmission will even be sent to the police control room.

bSafe

bSafe is a personal safety application that creates a “social safety net” of people who are notified in an emergency or in situations where the user feels unsafe. It has a bSafe alarm that sends exact location and audio-video of nearby areas to a contact pre-selected by users.

Eyewatch SOS for women

It records audio and video images of the user’s surroundings and an alert message is sent to the registered contacts. The app claims to have high location accuracy, works without GPRS and security check function. After reaching the location safely, by pressing the I’m safe button, the user can notify their loved ones. It is available on Google Play Store and iTunes.
