Android 14, set to launch soon, is expected to bring significant improvements over its predecessor, Android 13. The anticipated user interface update is speculated to include several enhancements, with the stable version slated for release in August this year. Developers are preparing for the transition, anticipating a smooth shift since the underlying platform will remain unchanged.
According to tweets by Mishaal Rahman, Android 14 will introduce a partial screen recording feature, allowing users to record a single app without interruptions from system notifications or the status bar. While the option to record the entire screen will still be available, capturing system notifications and the status bar, the new partial screen recording option offers more flexibility.
Users can select the desired app from the App list by swiping up on the app selector dialogue. Additionally, they can choose from the carousel of the last three used apps by swiping left or right. Notably, the screen recording will continue until manually stopped, even if the user switches apps. During app transitions, the recorded content will appear black, but upon returning to the original app, the recording will seamlessly resume within the same file.
To conclude the partial screen recording, users will need to swipe down and end the feature manually. This upcoming addition is expected to enhance the recording experience for Android users, providing greater control and privacy.
As the release of Android 14 approaches, users can anticipate these exciting new features and improvements in the upcoming update.
