The only rowing team of India that includes Arjun Lal and Arvind Singh have qualified for the next round into the semi-finals of the Lightweight Men’s Double Sculls at the Tokyo Olympics. They ended ranking third at the repechage race event with a timing of 6:51.36 on Sunday.
Arvind Singh and Arjun Lal Jat had reached this level by qualifying for the repechage round when they ended up ranked fifth previously on Saturday in the men’s lightweight double sculls heat. They finished with a timing of 6:40.33 in the field of six teams and failed to entitle to the semi-finals while contending in heat 2.
In the only rowing team of India, Arjun inferred the part of the bower and Arvind of a stroker. The pair raced 500m as they ensure the fifth position while chasing till the 1500m record.
The game comprised two rowers in a sculling boat that uses two oars each. The long, narrow and broadly semi-circular in cross-section boats assists to ameliorate the drag.
