The President of Indian Olympic Association (IOA) Dr PT Usha has expressed shock and disappointment at the decision of the Sole Arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to dismiss wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s application against the United World Wrestling (UWW) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The IOA is exploring further legal options, as per the reports.
For the unversed, Vinesh was disqualified ahead of her finals at Paris Olympics 2024 when she found overweight by 100 grams. The wrestler, with the help of IOA, filed an appeal that she should be awarded a joint silver medal.
