The 33rd edition of the Summer Olympics officially begins in Paris today, July 26, and will run until August 11. This year’s Games will feature 32 sports, including new additions like breaking, skateboarding, surfing, and sports climbing, alongside the traditional 28 core disciplines.
Although the opening ceremony marks the official start of the Olympics, some events like Football, Rugby Sevens, Handball, and Archery have already commenced two days ahead of the ceremony.
