Both men’s cricket and women’s cricket team has wished the country’s Olympic-bound contingent and have requested the citizens to support the athletes at the highest level. BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) shared a video on their Twitter handle on Saturday. The videos contain Indian cricket favourites Mithali raj, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jemimah Rodrigues, Ajinkya Rahane and Harleen Deol, they were chanting ‘Cheer 4 India’.

They captioned the video by saying, “The BCCI proudly joins the Honourable Prime Minister of India Sri Narendra Modi in extending our wholehearted support to the Team India Athletes for Tokyo 2020. They have trained hard and are raring to go. Let us get together and #Cheer4India.”
Alongside the IOA (Indian Olympic Association) has confirmed boxer Mary Kom and Indian hockey skipper as the torchbearer for the Indian contingent at the upcoming Tokyo Olympics 2020. President of IOA, Narinder Batra said in an official letter, “The flag bearers for the Indian contingent of Tokyo 2020 for the opening ceremony on July 23rd are Mary Kom and Manpreet Singh.”
He also confirmed 126 athletes and 75 officials will travel to Tokyo. The Indian contingent will land in Tokyo on July 17. The Olympics 2020 is starting from July 23 to August 8 without fans due to COVID-19 fear. With the wishes from BCCI and our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we all wish the Indian team will not just win hearts but bring many gold medals home.
