By May, Israel expects to vaccinates all its athletes against Covid-19 to compete in Tokyo Olympics said on Wednesday.

According to a Reuters tally, global Covid-19 cases has exceeded 100 million on Wednesday, whereas the countries around the world are struggling with new virus variants and lack of vaccines.

Currently Israel leads the world on per capita vaccinations as they have vaccinated 29% of its population with least one dose. In an email the Committee Spokeswoman told Reuters that, “As a part of the Israel vaccination for corona procedure already 50% of all the Israel Olympics athletes assignment to Tokyo have been immunized. And by may 2021 all the competitors will be completely vaccinated against the coronavirus.”

Due to third wave of Covid-19 infections Japan is under the state of emergency, but organizers have promised to press ahead with games which are due to open on July 23 after being delayed for a year before the pandemic.
