Manchester United’s return to the Premier League top three this season has been driven by one man more than any other, Bruno Fernandes.
The Portuguese midfielder has produced one of the greatest creative campaigns in Premier League history during the 2025/26 season. According to the latest data, Fernandes has created an incredible 132 chances in the league this season. That is at least 58 more than any other player in the division.
Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai sits second with 74 chances created, while Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez is third with 64. The gap underlines Fernandes’ dominance throughout the campaign.
The United captain has not only created opportunities regularly, but he has also delivered in decisive moments. Fernandes has registered 32 big chances created this season, at least 13 more than any other player in the league. His vision, passing range and leadership have become central to Manchester United’s attacking system under pressure-filled moments.
Fernandes has also recorded 20 Premier League assists this season, the highest tally in the division. That number has now matched Kevin De Bruyne’s record for the most assists in a single Premier League campaign.
What makes the achievement even more remarkable is that Fernandes still has one league game left to play this season. The 31-year-old now has the chance to move ahead of De Bruyne and set a new all-time Premier League record for assists in a single campaign.
