La Liga president Javier Tebas has strongly criticized Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez following his explosive press conference, accusing him of spreading lies and expressing sadness over his recent behavior.

In a pointed response, Tebas said: “It’s sad that a man like Florentino, with all his business prestige and everything he’s done for Real Madrid, has to come out and lie and say these things.”

He added: “Everyone knows I’m a Real Madrid fan, even though I’m taking a break right now. I feel sorry for Real Madrid because you can’t keep telling lies all the time.”

Tebas Expresses Disappointment in Pérez

The La Liga chief, who has had a long and often tense relationship with Pérez, described the Real Madrid president’s dramatic press conference as unfortunate. Tebas suggested that Pérez’s accusations — particularly regarding refereeing, the Negreira Case, and claims of systematic robbery — were untrue and damaging to the league’s image.

Tebas emphasized his personal affection for Real Madrid while criticizing what he sees as repeated falsehoods coming from the club’s leadership.

The war of words between Javier Tebas and Florentino Pérez highlights the deep tensions between Real Madrid and La Liga. While Pérez continues his aggressive campaign against alleged corruption, Tebas is pushing back firmly, defending the integrity of Spanish football.
