The Royal Challengers Bangalore Women (RCB-W) ended their Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 group stage campaign on a high note, defeating Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W) in a high-scoring contest. RCB-W posted a formidable 199-run total in the first innings, led by captain Smriti Mandhana’s fluent 53 off 37 balls. Ellyse Perry remained unbeaten at 49, while Richa Ghosh (36) and Georgia Wareham (31 off 10 balls) provided late fireworks to propel RCB to a competitive score.

MI-W fall short despite Nat Sciver-Brunt’s valiant effort

Chasing 200 for a direct ticket to the final, Mumbai’s openers struggled to provide momentum. However, Nat Sciver-Brunt played a determined knock of 69 runs, keeping MI-W in contention. Sajeevan Sajana also attempted to steer the chase but fell short as RCB’s disciplined bowling attack held firm. MI-W ultimately failed to overhaul the target, suffering a setback in their bid for a direct berth in the final.

Delhi Capitals secure final spot, MI-W to face GG in eliminator

With this defeat, MI-W finished second on the points table, handing Delhi Capitals Women (DC-W) a direct entry into the WPL 2025 final. Gujarat Giants (GG) secured the third and final playoff spot and will now face MI-W in the eliminator. The winner of this high-stakes clash will challenge DC-W in the summit showdown on March 15.
