Rajasthan Royals’ captain Sanju Samson has been in phenomenal form this season and his team are also at the top of the points table. But will this form help him make a place in the Indian cricket team for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024?
This is a tough question to answer as there are lot of options present in the current Indian cricket squad who are expected to be selected over him. Surely, Sanju Samson is one of the underrated players in India as his recent form in IPL and other domestic leagues are worth a look.
Sanju haven’t got much chances to showcase himself in the blue jersey. Some recent reports from SportsKeeda suggest that wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul is the preferred option over Sanju Samson in the Indian team for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.
Sanju Samson is on the 7th position in the players with most runs in this year’s IPL. He has already scored 314 runs. Whereas, KL Rahul are on the 11th position in this list with 302 runs. As KL Rahul has an experience of playing world cups and thus he is expected to be the most ideal choice for BCCI for the upcoming tournament. Many experts who are predicting the World Cup squad for India also seem to leave Samson out.
