Ishant Sharma, who won the prestigious Arjuna Award this year, is celebrating his 32nd birthday on Wednesday and wishes from the cricket fraternity poured in for the Indian pacemaker. The Cricket Control Council of India (BCCI) took to Twitter to revisit a phenomenal five-wicket run Ishant Sharma took against Bangladesh in Kolkata in India’s first-ever day-night test.

“Happy Birthday, @ImIshant. Here’s a recap of their phenomenal 5-wicket shot against Bangladesh in the Pink Ball Test,” BCCI tweeted. Ishant is currently in the United Arab Emirates for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Indian captain Virat Kohli also posted some photos with Ishant and wished him his birthday.

Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer congratulated Ishant on receiving the Arjuna Award and wished him good luck for the coming season.

“Happy Birthday @ImIshant! And best wishes for receiving your Arjuna Award. Looking forward to the season with you,” Iyer said.

Ajinkya Rahane also wished the quick pitcher on his 32nd birthday.

“Happy birthday, Ishi. Here are more times of fun and celebration,” Rahane said.

Shikhar Dhawan, Ishant’s state comrade, also extended his wishes to the quick thrower. “Happy birthday my brother @ImIshant I can’t wait to have a great season with you,” Dhawan tweeted.

The fast bowler has played 97 tests so far and has picked up 297 wickets in the longest format in the game. In ODI, Ishant has 115 wickets to his name in 80 games.

Ishant picked up 13 wickets in 13 games at last year’s IPL and helped Delhi advance to the play-offs. He made his test debut in 2007 against Bangladesh and quickly donned the blue jersey against South Africa that same year.
