Virat Kohli marked his return to domestic cricket in style, scoring a fluent half-century for Delhi against Andhra Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Wednesday. The former India captain reached his fifty during Delhi’s chase after Andhra Pradesh posted 298 for 8 in their allotted 50 overs.
Kohli’s innings also saw him complete 16,000 runs in List A cricket, further cementing his dominance in the format. With this milestone, Kohli continues to hold a staggering list of records, being the fastest batter to reach 10,000, 11,000, 12,000, 13,000, 14,000, 15,000 and now 16,000 runs in List A cricket.
Playing his first domestic List A match in over a decade, Kohli looked in complete control, combining timing with intent as he anchored Delhi’s chase alongside Nitish Rana. His knock once again underlined why he remains one of the most consistent and impactful batters in limited-overs cricket.
Kohli’s return to the Vijay Hazare Trophy comes as part of the BCCI’s directive encouraging senior players to feature in domestic tournaments when available, with the Delhi batter using the platform to sharpen his match readiness ahead of India’s upcoming ODI assignments.
