India’s star cricketer Smriti Mandhana has signed with the Adelaide Strikers for the upcoming 10th edition of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL). The Adelaide Strikers announced the signing on their social media channels and official website.

Mandhana, who leads the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), brings a wealth of experience to the Strikers. She has previously played for the Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, and Sydney Thunder in the WBBL. Over her WBBL career, Mandhana has featured in 38 matches, accumulating 784 runs at a strike rate of 130.01 and an average of 24.50. Her highest score in the tournament stands at an unbeaten 114.

Earlier this year, Mandhana led the Royal Challengers Bangalore to their first WPL title. She expressed her enthusiasm about joining the Adelaide Strikers, saying, “I always look forward to playing in Australia, and I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute to a team with a history of success like the Strikers.”

The Adelaide Strikers, who have clinched the WBBL title in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons, are eager to continue their winning streak with Mandhana on board.

In addition to her WBBL career, Mandhana has represented India in 141 T20 Internationals, amassing 3,493 runs at an average of 28.86 and a strike rate of 122.51, including 26 half-centuries with a highest score of 87. She also has experience in The Women’s Hundred, having played for the Southern Brave in England.

The 10th edition of the WBBL is set to begin on October 27 with a match between the Adelaide Strikers and the Brisbane Heat, a repeat of last year’s final.
