The BCCI on Sunday, September 14, announced the squads for the upcoming India A vs Australia A one-day series to be held at Green Park Stadium, Kanpur, later this month. The big news is that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will not feature in the India A matches. The duo will instead make their return on October 19 in Perth.

India A squad details

The three-match one-day series will see Rajat Patidar leading the India A side in the opening clash on September 30. For the second and third matches, Tilak Varma will take over captaincy duties, with Patidar serving as his deputy.

Delhi’s Priyansh Arya, who rose to prominence during IPL 2025, has earned a call-up for the first match.

Why Rohit and Kohli are not included

Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are currently unavailable due to India’s commitments in the Asia Cup 2025. The selectors have chosen to rest them for the India A matches, with their official comeback scheduled for October 19 at Perth.
