Former South African captain, AB De Villiers has been one of the strong performers for RCB (Royal Challengers Banglore) since his first presence for the franchise in 2011 where they reached their second IPL final and lost to CSK (Chennai Super Kings).

ABD showed up for the three-time finalists when it mattered the most as he played his match winnings shots in some of the playoffs, the best of them being an unbeaten 79 against the Gujrat Franchise in the Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2016.

AB de Villiers did announce retirement from all forms of cricket a few months ago. ABD on the RCB podcast said, “RCB to me is family. I mean it has been a life-changing 10-11 years to me.” He believes like any other family, there are ups and downs, There are good relationships and then there are those which go sour and that is all part of the fun. He looks back with no regret and considers his RCB career as the most amazing years of his life. He feels privileged of experiencing IPL Cricket, the Indian crowd, and the Indian ways of doing things for the past 15 years.

The 37-year-old further said that growing up in India would have been interesting. He feels that he might have never played for India. He feels it is very tough to make it to the Indian team as one needs to be a special player for it.
