South Africa lost the first match of the three-match Test series against Australia. The game ended in just two days as Australia had to chase the target of just 34 runs. There were a lot of talks going on about the pitch. The Gabba pitch was green and the South African captain Dean Elgar felt it was purposely made by the Australians.

Australia is at the top of the World Test Championship’s (WTC 2021-23) points table whereas South Africa is in the second position. Dean Elgar felt that it was too dangerous to play on that pitch of Gabba. The Australian captain Pat Cummins however opposed him and said the pitch was fine.

The Australian pacer thinks that the Gabba pitch was ok and it was the typical Test match pitch.

“No way, it was fine. Sideways movement, there was a little bit of up and down bounce, but it was fine,” said Pat Cummins as reported by ESPNcricinfo.com.

The second Test match between Australia and South Africa will be starting on 26th December and is to be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
