Tension mounted ahead of the Pakistan vs UAE Asia Cup 2025 clash in Dubai as supporters outside the stadium confirmed that the Pakistan team has remained at their hotel and not arrived for the scheduled fixture.
A Pakistani supporter said, “Pakistan team is still at the hotel. They have not reached here (stadium). PCB has announced that they won’t play today’s match over the issue of the change of umpire. Pakistanis are sitting outside (stadium)… It is good that the PCB refused to play the match. It is better to not play if it is played like this.”
The remarks add to the uncertainty surrounding Pakistan’s participation in the tournament, with reports earlier suggesting the team has pulled out of the Asia Cup altogether. Meanwhile, the UAE squad has already reached the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, ready to play.
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has yet to release an official statement on the status of the match.
