The milestone is one day away when India will play its 1000th ODI match tomorrow against West Indies. On the eve of this special occasion, the legendary cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar, who played India’s 463 out of 999 ODI matches over a time frame of almost a quarter of a century, shares his five best matches in which he participated.

The former Indian captain picked the 2011 World Cup final match as the best ODI match. He also picks the ‘Desert Storm’ match against Australia that had taken place in Sharjah in 1998, the 2003 World Cup match against Pakistan, and also the two VB series games that the Indian side played against Australia in Sydney and The Gabba are among the five matches that Sachin considers to be the best ODI matches he was a part of.

Sachin reveals that he loved the 98 which he made against Pakistan in the 2003 World Cup at Centurion, and states that he would love to experience that innings once again. He believes that the pre-match tension as well as the strong bowling attack of the opposition, makes that knock a very special moment for him, reported Times of India.

Sachin Tendulkar has scored the highest runs in ODI cricket, accumulated a massive 18426 runs in his 463 matches. He has also made the highest centuries in ODI cricket. The Master Blaster played his last ODI match for the Indian team in 2012.
